The rear end on my 13 suburban is making nioses & I was told that it is shot I really don't want to spend the big money to get it fixed I have access to a 03 avalanche rear end. My question is Are they compatible. Can I just swap one out for the other?

Not really compatible, ABS and brakes and the tubes are different lengths as @CaptainAmerica1 mentions.

You can get a cheap 9.5" axle with 3.42s gears from LKQ probably less than the 8.6" that's under the truck now, they're a hidden gem!

@Ptrbuilt90 The rear end in my 96 made all sorts of noises for 3 years before I sold it and never failed me. Keep driving it until it actually breaks so you don't waste money

What kind of noises? Mine makes a slight whine when coasting at 40-50 mph. Gonna run it until it sings me a good song.

If you were closer, I'd offer my 8.6" rear as I'm getting ready to put
in a 14 bolt soon. But I see we are half a country apart !

Change the fluid and run it. I've seen noisy pinions last quite awhile with regular fluid changes. The noise is unnerving for sure. Depending on your $$ situation and the overall condition of the vehicle, will determine the value
,or lack of, to you and the course you take.

The other options listed above are good as well. Nothing wrong with a plug and play for around $250
