Recently install a 14 bolts semi float on my 2 door 97 yukon. My yukon gt came with 3.42 from factory and the 14 bolt came with a 4.10. My yukon has 33in tires and maybe..maybe 315/75/16 in a future. With the 4.10 I notice it was slower than before but not notice a huge power gain. I have 2 options..install a 4.10 in the front or install a 3.42 in the 14 bolt.

What is the best choice?
Which is the easier installation(front or rear)?
Any reco will be appreciated.

you low geared it so it will go slower then before at a fix rpm of the engine. You will not notice a power gain but you have more pulling torque. this would likely counter the effect of your bigger tires. good news that if you want from the 3.42 with stock tire size to the 4.10 with your future 315/75/16 you cancel out the drivetrain strain from your bigger tires and a few extra rpm on the engine.

oh and re-gear the front to 4.10.
