this is a little late. If you bring it in to a gm dealer, a lot of times with this issue they will replace it free of charge. its a known issue and they go all the time bc of the placement. I have had mine replaced in my Yukon at 14k, my brothers Silverado had his replaced twice in 60k, fathers suburban as well... my brothers was replaced out of warranty both times free of charge.
GM addressed this under extended miles or 5 years I believe. But too late now. If you were under 75k, it should have been free.
Ok. I was 28k past it and GM gave me 1/3 of the cost of the repair back.Yeah If I was under warranty I would have definitely taken advantage of that. I actually asked the dealership if GM would give me any leeway with covering it under warranty but they said since I'm already 45K past the limit they wouldn't be able to let it slide.
