Folks with 2019-20 vehicles how would you describe your idle smoothness when you are stopped at the traffic light in Drive (D)? I am having lots of issues with idle on 9-months old 2018 Yukon. Curious if they fixed it in 19-20?

I have a 2015 and I had some rough idling issues at about 80k , ended up having to change lifters at about 105 - 110k .

I guess the first thing to know is what type of oil and fuel you are using . Also , keep a close eye on the oil and coolant levels. These trucks burn oil more than average and the coolant reservoir leaks , which can unexpectedly put them dangerously low causing a rough idle and worse

Well ..... I made my decision. If I buy another suburban, I'll be going for the 2020 or trying to get a sweet deal on a 2019 .

Not impressed with the the new design at all . The front end is ok , it's just nice , nothing to write home about but cool . The rear end looks like the last gen Chrysler town and country . I'm ashamed of myself for looking up spy shots for past year and a half , they should have left it covered up if you ask me .

This was my experience with 5 more Tahoes and Yukons I have tried recently - smooth as butter cannot detected if it is running. My 2018 is 10K miles and 9 months old is shaking and vibrating in idle all the time. Dealers say “this is how all these trucks are - rough idle is normal” .

Trade it in on a new one. Life is too short to be miserable with your purchase.

As far as reliability, just stay away from too much tech (magnaride, push button start, electric fold seats). Base 4wd LT 5.3 should do you fine for a decade, and you can upgrade a few bits that are plug n play like escalade mirrors and heated wheel. Seeing 4wd LT burbs $50k now for 2020s. Bet you can do better in the next few weeks as new design gets more hype...

Indeed will be on the lookout for 2020 and 2019 deals. You are absolutely right, this truck makes my daily driving so unpleasant that I do not want to get into it to drive. My only other concern is atrocious support from GM and dealers.

Trade it in on a new one. Life is too short to be miserable with your purchase.

My 2017 XL had what felt like a miss when idling at a stoplight while burning regular gasoline. I switched to mid-grade some fill ups and premium others. Now runs buttery smooth and cannot even tell it's running. For me, BIG difference in type of gas. 5.3 L, not the 6.2.

Where do you live? I am sure members here on the forum can recommend some good Chevrolet-GMC dealer in your neck of the woods. I always had awesome service from Cadillac dealers and would not hesitate to take my Tahoe to a Cadillac dealer for service.
