So,

We just got a 1995 Tahoe Z71 with 66k miles on it. Apparently the Z71 means it has the K42 RPO code? I can't tell because the sticker inside the glovebox is worn. I want to change the air filter but I'm not sure if I HAVE to get the K42 specific one? It looks slightly different from the regular paper filter in that it has an extra foam layer running around the outside of it. Can I just get the regular one or is it a must to get the "off road" one? Thanks.

K42 is the 125 amp alternator and does not affect the air filter. The RPO for Z71 is......yup, Z71.
