Afternoon,
Found this place through some internet searches regarding this 1996 2-Door that I recently purchased.
It's given me fits over the first two months I've owned it.
Low miles, 93k but everything else seems to be bad.
Already replaced a bad cruise control housing and wiper pulse board myself. Replaced the broken head unit with a refurbished "Bluetooth" stock unit. Speakers next.
Water pump went bad, replaced (mechanic) along with a fan belt tensioner.
Battery terminal as been really sketchy. The truck would just die for no reason. Mostly when I was idling at a stop light or backing out of the driveway. Tightened the battery terminal, went away, ran perfect for weeks. Well, it died at a stop light again this morning, finally got it cranked after a few minutes, "Service Engine Light" is now on. Pretty embarrassing in the middle of downtown, people honking like I had a choice, LOL. Merry F'ing Christmas, trying to diagnose the stalling issue. Kind of scared to drive it down the road to the mechanic.
Outside of that crap, it's beautiful....
Finding this less reliable than our monster purchase, our other daily driver is a new Yukon XL:
