Most likely a faulty gas cap or you left off. Make sure it's tight and give it a few days to reset. Or you can disconnect the negative terminal for a while and let it reset, then see if it comes back.

Ok, I have been told it may be a faulty gas cap. May buy a new one and see what happens. SES light has not come on today but was on yesterday. I have disconnected the battery several times and still comes on sonetimes.

Purchased a new gas cap tonight. The SES light was off when i replaced the gas cap so now it is a waiting game to see if this is going to remain a cheap and easy fix.

Here's a link to someone else who had the same problem. In my opinion this probably will not be the fix either. Most likely you have a drop in pressure from a leak some where in you fuel system. Maybe you fuel pump is cracked and letting fumes out of the gas tank or the hose from the gas tank to the filler is deteriorating and you losing pressure. Most likely your best bet is to take it somewhere and let them do a smoke check and see if they can detect the leak. Otherwise you be replacing one little part at a time not knowing if it's the right one.

Tested the purge solenoid valve and it tested faulty. Installed a new one and all is good! No lights, truck is running better.

Have anyone heard of having overdrive shifting problems with this code? Before I changed the PSV my truck sometimes wouldn't go into overdrive. Now after installing the new PSV it shifts flawlessly! Does the vacumm affect the OD?
