I've broken down and decided it is time to redo the inside of my truck. It's getting a little run down and I plan on keeping this truck for a long time. So yesterday I gutted out the interior. It has the dark blue seats and trim pieces. I am switching the interior to black with a little bit of blue to match the exterior which is glossy black with blue pearl. I want to make the seats leather too. Is it easy at all to reupholster the cloth seats with leather, and the front seat is a bench seat would it be better looking if these were captain's chairs? Also what needs to be done to install a suede headliner? I plan on doing this all by myself as I have done with everything on this truck, I am just looking for ideas and advice.

suede headliner should be just like any headliner, you will need the suede thats 80" wide and 4 yards should be sufficient to do your headliner and around the door handles on your door cards.. as far as painting things black if you want it to look like its oem black use krylon fusion satin black.. clean all the panels up with your favorite degreaser( i prefer super clean) then scuff them up with a green scotch pad, and final wipe with alcohol. go nice and light on the first coats with 10 min in between each coat.. after you have painted it dont mess with them for at least 24hrs.. as far as the seats, if you like them and just want to recover talk to atomichoe about katskin.. im currently looking for new seats and havent had good luck yet, all the black captains chairs i find are around 800$.

when it comes to removing the dashboard, I have removed every single clip and screw except for the two pins on the left and right side of the cab attached to the support bar how do you remove these two pins?

that dash is a pain in the ass to remove. you need to pull the steering column then the dash will actually tip forward for you to slide it out.. theres a few little 7mm bolts holding it up as well

I got everything taken out except for the front seats. Right now I am working on wiring and design concepts for the speakers and lighting. I'm going to have the interior glowing blue from LEDs. I also just purchased material for the headliner today. It's going to have black and blue suede. Black in the middle and two blue strips running down the side. I also decide to go ahead and do all the pillars in black suede. I am in process of looking for a custom steering wheel, how to reupholster my seats, and a radio head unit to go in the truck. I have yet to look into doing anything about the carpet. I am on the edge of buying the replacement mold kit, dying the old carpet, or using my own carpet and fitting it to the truck.

I'm doing the exact same thing. I just bought a 99 2 door from an auction for 1500 a couple weeks ago. The interior was hammerd, I'm in the middle of stripping the interior and pulling the whole dash out. I almost have it done, just have to disconnect a couple more harnesses. I bought dark grey suede headliner from yourautotrim (60" wide is wide enough). I'm planning on wrapping a couple other things in the suede and I'm going to attempt to reupholster the door panels with some flexible faux leather. I have Katzkin leather seat covers in my 07 Mustang and there top notch, I highly recommend them! I plan to order some for the Tahoe in the future!
