Glad to hear she's doing well after the coolant scare. That ball joint story was a roller coaster! Glad you didn't have a complete failure. Look forward to new pics of her and your country!

Hey How R Ya :D
Picked up the rig from the mechanic yesterday and it turns out that they did get it right!
Very shocked that she blew a ball joint in about 5000-7000 miles!16878868170562992241453793997652.jpgHere is the cuprit.

The boys reckon the replacement Moog ball joint looked a better quality unit than this 1 they pulled out.

I think the chev part supplier's in town must have ordered a cheap replacement and it just hasnt lasted!

They charged me $192.00 for the Moog ball joint!

I found it on Rock Auto for $20 U.S or delivered to my door here in New Zealand for $77 N.Z

This parts supplier really likes to slide 1 into you.

If I had the time to wait I would have ordered the part myself but I didn't want to risk a 200 mile while waitung for the part to arrive.

FedEx is pretty good. They usually get small stuff here in about 4-5 days

Anyway,I can feel the difference in the steering straight away so lets call it good for now and my faith restored in the mechanics!

Cheers Tony

Maybe you should order a set to keep on standby.

20230628_143552.jpgJust filled Her up. 2nd time I've filled completely since buying Her!

Petrol is going up 26 cents a liter in the next 24 hours and I'm doing a 400 + mile round trip at the end of next week so am taking a bit of ache away from the wallet.

Think it looks Tidy.
Thanks @YukonGTmaster
I went with satin black in the roof rack rails as you suggested and added some new rubber tubing to the cross rails to soften loading.
Cheers my Brotha's from other mothers :signs8:
