I bought a 1997 Tahoe 4x4 with an LS swap. I’m having an issue with the Speedometer, ABS light on, and will not go into 4x4. I replaced the gauge cluster, and the Speed Sensor in the transfer case and still having the issue. The ABS light and the 4x4 issues started when I got it back from the mechanic.

I took it to a mechanic to fix a few things, the speedometer was one of them. He noticed the motor mounts were broke and they were not the proper mounts. The AC compressor wasn’t mounted correctly either. So they basically did the swap but didn’t buy all the little kits.

He pulled the motor, and put in a new gasket kit as it was leaking oil. New motor mounts, removed the ac compressor, new gauge cluster, and had to work on the rear end as there was a loose bolt in it.

With the VSS replaced I read maybe it could be the ABS Wheel Sensors. There aren’t a lot of videos of them, and I poked my head under there but didn’t see any wires running behind my rotors.

I could use some help

Are you looking for an actual answer as to what it could be? Do you have any diagnostic tools or skills?

Check ground. They might not have properly grounded the new engine. Check electrical. ABS does a votage test when the vehicle is started. If it is not up to par ABS light, service Stabilitrack, etc comes on.
