Hi guys.
Got following problem with my 5.7 vortec.
Started fine, drove out of driveway and she started back firing and smoking really bad, no power.
The fuel tank was a quarter full, by the time I limped it back into yard, fuel tank was empty.
Oil dipstick is 4 to 5 inches overfull now.
So I'm guessing the fuel went into the cranking case.
I'm guessing Piston rings are gone, or is there someway else the fuel can get into the oil ?

Strange that numerous piston rings went bad at same time. Do a compression test but may be pretty bad with failed compression rings. Any recent fuel system or engine work?

Only new cap ,rotor, sparkplugs and wires. Was going to change fuel pressure regulator and spider injectors.
Fuel pressure went right away to zero as soon as pump shut off.

If you had instant fuel pressure loss, I would guess a leaking or stuck open injector is washing fuel down the cylinder walls. Pull the plugs to see which one is wet or which cylinder is full of fuel. I wouldn’t try to start it again. Get the oil drained out as well. I’d fill and drain a few rounds of cheap oil down it to try to get the gas out.
