Hello,

I recently had to custom fabricate the dashboard on my 1999 2-Door LS Sport Utility 5.7 and on the driver's side, the wiring harness has 2 small ground wires, and I am not sure where they were grounded before I took it apart. Does anyone have an idea of where these ground wires go? I am sure as long as it is grounded would suffice but I'd like to put them back where they were if possible. I looked through the service manual for 1998 and couldn't find them in there. But that is a ton of information to sift through to find in all 4 of the manuals. Thanks in advance for any help with this small issue I am having.

Mine is a 98 and I’m scratching my head trying to remember a second ground on the driver side. The only one I remember is on the dash support bar behind the floor light - it has a yellow wrapped lead which makes it look like an airbag circuit. It may have changed for 99.

The 99 manual can be downloaded in posts 77 and 111 here:

I think I’ve seen (somewhere) a list in the manual that has a description of all grounds and their location. It’s hard to sift through those PDFs, printing it out is on my to-do list someday.

On the passenger side there are a couple of ground wires above the blower.
