Hello TYF,

Just wanted to share a little makeover that I worked on for my Tahoe this past weekend.

I have slowly been trying to get her back to her stock, fresh off the lot look.

13 years ago, when I first bought her, I thought the whole moldings delete, badge delete, roof rack delete were bad ass! They still are just not my style anymore. Now that these trucks are becoming more and more scarce, I greatly appreciate a complete untouched classic stock look. It could be my aging self-contributing to this feeling as well. LOL I was only 19 years old when I purchased this truck, and it seemed like the full delete look was in at the time.

I got the molding kit from Route LA Custom Parts. I recommend them for any stock OBS badging and molding. Thier quality and customer service are second-to-none. I installed these about 6 weeks ago.

On Saturday I went to a pick-n-pull and scored a complete roof rack assembly for $21! Got home and immediately wet sanded it down and sprayed it with some rattle can plasti-dip! I've never used the stuff, but it seems to be pretty durable. Time will tell, though. Did multiple passes with the black and 4 passes with clear for UV protection.

After the roof rack was complete and installed, I pulled my 1995 K2500 Light Duty out and borrowed her wheels. I don't think she will be getting her wheels back. Time to figure out something else for her in the future, as she is sitting in the garage now on the 16" OEM wheels.

I am loving the way the Tahoe is coming along.

Here she is for the time being:

Very clean. Those are good-looking trucks anyway.

Maybe next time, do like I did on my '95 2-door, and have that roof rack powder coated. I never thought of plastic coating, but I assume powder coating would last longer.

Thank you so much on the compliment.

Yessir, they are the best looking trucks on the road no matter your style. The cool things about these trucks is that a lot of people seem to put their own unique touch on them.

Oooo powder coating would’ve been amazing! Good thinking!

@OBSTheBest, looking good :thumbsup:

I can appreciate the OEM look myself too. I have original rims on (2) other vehicles I can always swap if I get tired of these 2018 Silverado rims...

What a beauty you have there! Very well preserved :D

Thank you for the compliment! Nothing better than these GMT400 trucks! :boti:
