Good Afternoon TYF,

Has anyone ever replaced the socket that the rear license plate bulb fits into?

Years ago, I noticed the bulb that shines on the rear license plate was burnt out. Went to replace it, and the bulb broke in my fingertips.

Now half of the bulb is stuck in the socket.

I will take any advice on trying to get that second half of the bulb out, if someone may know. Otherwise, I will replace the whole socket.

Thank y'all.

I thought the license plate lights were 194 push in bulbs. Terrible design if the truck has a hitch, no way to get hands in there to remove sockets and the lights are retained with clips.

I thought that they were push-ins, as well. If so, an if the bulb broke, there is still s piece of the bulb in the socket, and it will be a challenge to get it out. As stated above, a good set of needle nose pliers are still your best bet to rewove.
