Thanks for the advice but this is not an option. I love my truck, but I don't have the time, place, or experience to work on it. In fact, not having a place to work on my truck is making me lean towards getting something newer.

If this is all it's going to take for you to buy a newer vehicle, sounds like you have made your mind up. Spend $1,500 for a good quality rebuild. Or go and spend 10x that for a newer ride and have a payment. It seems like people are afraid to get their hands dirty. your never going to learn anything if you don't try. you probably don't even change your own oil. I think I'm going to shut up now.

unknown at this time.
Yep $2400 at an independent shop in Vallejo, Ca. That included seals, bushings, frictions, solenoids, TC, some improvement parts such as booster valve and bonded pistons, steels, valve body plates and such.

The parts cost more then the labor. Was pressed for time so could not just get a remaned from the dealer or an aftermarket built unit which in the end would have been less cost.

Thanks for the information, everybody. I ended-up paying the $2,500. They allowed me to pay $1,800 and pay the rest later. Yes, that did include a torque converter, upgraded input shell, etc., etc. etc.
