So this has been an on going issue with our Tahoe and I would really like to figure it out so I'm hoping someone here may be able to shine some light on the issue. Purchased a Spectra Intake, and installed it now for whatever reason we're getting a 'Check Engine' light come on and it brings up the code (p0172/P0175). We've changed the MAF 5times now and the longest they've lasted was roughly a month.

I've checked all the piping coming from the intake into the filter and this issue was not present with the stock airbox on so that is where im really confused as to why the MAF wouldn't just adjust, and if so what other avenues to I have.

Today i called Advanced and had them order me a ACDELCO replacment MAF, I hope this will fix the issue but hoenstly im out of options otherwise.....

Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks

Honestly, I would have to guess that the calibration of the location of the MAF in the spectre intake tube is off whereby causing the MAF to not function properly to begin with, OR if it came with an oiled filter you may want to either clean it and re-oil with less oil or replace it with a new filter.

The location is exactly where the previouse location was, if i could get someone else in here with the same intake to varify that its located in the right location that might help, but i really dont know what else it could be . I even went throught he wiring and seen if it was bad in some way but all the wires are connected and good.

The MAF that i had in here just before it went bad lasted roughly almost 2months without a issue so thats where im kinda confused, and the filter isn't oiled all that much at all either.

When you checked the wiring, did you remove the looms from the harness behind the MAF? You may want to take it down that far if you had not before and ensure there isn't moisture in the harness that may be getting into the sensor through the plug. Water in the harness can cause fits if that is what it is.

On the Dmax I had a throttle position sensor code pop up and had not throttle and after replacing the pedal and sensor with no luck I unplugged the harness and went into it on the suggestion of a friend and sure enough, after cleaning, drying and retaping the loom in place it worked and has worked fine without any other issues.
