I have a 1999 GMC Yukon SLT I want to put 3rd row seats into. Do all 1999 GMC Yukon SLT’s have plugged provisions for 3rd row seats under the carpets? Are seats from the 2000-2006+ GMT-400 chasis all compatible on the 1999 platform? Is there a chart or information I haven’t found yet that explains compatibility between platform years/generations?

You can lift the carpet to check, but I’d wager that there are no brackets or provisions for a third row as it wasn’t an option until the 2000 GMT800 platform.

It’s been several years, but I do remember reading about people retrofitting a Suburban seat by welding in brackets to the floor pan for the seats and belts.

Seats from an 800 will not swap into a 400 without modifying the brackets and/or drilling new holes.

Well shit! Now I understand why it’s all 2000 or newer listed seats. Ok… well time to go investigate. Thanks for the GMT-400/800 clarification. Measure twice, cut thrice I guess is the direction I’m headed.

There was a guy here local to me with a GMT400 that had a third row in his Yukon. He used a suburban 3rd row, not sure how it was secured but I image it’s what’s been said above, retro fit suburban floor brackets in

My 99 Yukon didn't have any provisions for a 3rd seat. How would you get back to it?
