Hi Everyone,
Is anyone running 300+ hp through 2 inch down pipes?
I have a 97 Yukon with the MPFI upgrade and just recently the 0411 pcm with the Vortec express van tune. what a difference that made! increased mpg by 3 and the engine feels more alive.
Anyway... back to the exhaust kit. I mistakenly bought the Magnaflow 23453 cats & pipe kit thinking it was 2.5 inches, but it is only 2 inches. Still ok with the stock 255 horsepower Vortec 5.7, but I am planning a camshaft swap in the near future. I already bought the cam, it is the SPO 350/357 crate engine cam from Chevrolet performance part number 12677151.
Camshaft Type (P/N 12677151): Hydraulic roller
Camshaft Lift (in): 0.473" intake / 0.473" exhaust
Camshaft Duration (@.050 in): 215° intake / 223° exhaust
So, maybe it isn't going to achieve GM's 357 hp, but it will be over 300. If you look at all the exhaust charts 2 1/4 is the lowest I should go. SO should I ship it back? It seems there are few other bolt on solutions.
