I have a 2004 Denali XL that I bought in 2009 with 50k miles on it. At that time we owned a 2010 Lance trailer that weighed 4500 pounds, we towed 4-6 times every summer..once up to Oregon from the Reno area. Never skipped a beat, and towed it great.
In 2015 we bought a 30 foot Nomad trailer that weighed 6700 pounds dry that i foolishly thought I could tow. The tranny was stock and had never run hotter then 200 degrees indicated, but with the big trailer it got up to 220 the 2 times i towed with it. I put a transcooler 40k in it as well as firestone airbags.. it stayed level and cool but didn't have the power to put the Sierra grades. I got a diesel pickup since then to tow, and we use the Denali mostly for travel with the 3 kids and dog. The Denali has 149k on it now and other then regular maintenance it has never let me down..
