I bought an Eincar head unit for my '97 Camry. I would never put that into my 08 Hoe. Does your DVD actually play region 1 DVD movies? Mine was advertised as DVD but only plays DVD "media" not encoded movies. They also lied a lot about RDS availability. Not currently a huge fan of Eincar, but I may try a better unit in my Saturn before I ever attempt to take the plunge in my Tahoe.

thought i replied to one of these before, my experience with them has been pretty good. word of caution: definitely get one with the 8core processor and minimum 2gm of ram, usually loaded with android 6.0. they run a whole lot smoother than the previous ones. they also never really shut off, they go into sleep mode with very little amp draw so theres no boot time. I use one in mine and can swap between spotify, torque, waze great.
I have one from Eonon https://www.eonon.com/Car-Type/ChevroletGMC.html there's very few differences in any of them most companies use the same chip, PX5 8core and samsung 2gb ram

i dont know how the newer android 7.1 with quad core works, may be ok. and the wiring harness for that one comes prewired for 07-11 iirc. In my 2012 denali, bluetooth, nav, onstar, bose, rear entertainment I had to rewire the entire harness to PAC adapters. was kinda a pain in the ass but pretty happy with outcome
I had the 4200Nex with android auto in my 09 Denali. Worked amazing but this looks like a great deal.
'Had'? I just ordered one of these with all necessary harnesses for a '14 suburban. You think I'll regret it? I am a big time android geek

honestly, i dont think ive ever tried to put a dvd in it
I would rather it have not even came with the player in favor of a larger screen, I use a 128gb thumb drive for playing movies, mp4, wma, etc. RDS works fine in mine.
I just turn on hotspot from my phone and connect via wifi to the unit, can watch netflix, xfinity, popcorn time, search google, google maps/waze for gps,

I have the nex 8200, it works with all the factory features of bose premium except front/rear fade which I never use anyway. it switch's to reverse camera almost instantly when booting might be a one second delay, otherwise it's on as soon as you put it in reverse, boot time depends on what you had it set for when it shut off, if it was on radio you hear it within seconds same for Sirius, if it was on ipod then the ipod has to boot as well so it takes a minute, same if it was on dvd, if it was on sd card for a movie then it plays as soon as it finishes booting, works with carplay and android auto, works with the factory displays, steering controls, onstar,. i did have to add a Sirius adapter because the factory Sirius would have only displayed on the DIC, all of this installed without having to cut a single factory wire just use adapters., one major benefit was the Bluetooth is 10 times better than the factory one, with the factory Bluetooth mic it sounds like your 10 feet away when talking, with the pioneer it sounds just like your on the phone. and ya it wasn't $200, it was more like $1000 even after shopping around online for best prices.

Yes thanks. I ordered the 4201NEX with all harnesses and the xm receiver for about $900 tax in. There's a $150 rebate on the 4201 on now as well. Will be installing in the new year. Looking forward to this.

I'm kinda underwhelmed by my 4201NEX. For one thing, the auto brightness doesn't seem to work correctly. If you brighten it for day time, it is too bright for night. Further, the settings are buried a couple layers deep, making it difficult to switch back and forth.

Also on the 4201NEX, local stations/HD radio reception seems to be poor. Mind you, mine is installed in my '03 Lincoln -- I'm still considering what goes into the Suburban.

Good luck to those of you getting new head units.
