I’ll start by saying the suburban is still not done..
After 7 days of wrenching in 10-20 degree weather we never even made it to the rear portion of the lift. We ran into quite a few problems getting everything apart which set us back 2.5 days and then ran into a hell of a clearance problem putting the steering back together. As well as a hand full of other issues that just plagued the whole process. The only thing left to do on the front was install the new brake lines and I ran out of time, had to go back to work today and won’t get back to work on it again until the weekend of the 12th.
I only got a few pics of the truck before we left for vacation right after I got it back from the transmission shop and the beginning of the tear down and a little of the front going on.
From what I can tell I love the new transmission:
Corvette converter with a 2500 stall
Beast Sun Shell
HD front and rear planetary gear sets
Transgo HD2 with only one washer and medium drilling on the plate
Zpak Clutches
HD wide bands
Also added a transfer case Case Saver
And all new bearings ands seals everywhere.
It holds in gear a lot better, like climbing hills in 4th. It down shifts quickly with little hesitation. If you are easy on the gas it shifts smooth and fast, way better than stock, if you get on the gas like half or more throttle it shifts very firm and you get a nice neck snap that’s not to aggressive.
