2000 NBS Blue Steel Burban Build

I’d love to throw a cam in it while we are in there but I don’t have the funds to do it the right way and get a tune so I’ll cross that bridge later maybe this time next year we can get the motor built. Fingers crossed

Not the best picture but she will finally be back on the street this weekend at which point I can get some better photos.



Things got a little crazy, going into this we were going to just replace some steering components and slap the lift on. Should have taken a weekend.....

2 months later here is what has been done:

Transmission rebuilt
Rear end rebuilt
All steering components replaced - linkage, gear box, pump, and hoses.
All bushings replaced - this took forever to get done
New hubs and ball joints
New parking brake shoes
New stainless steel brake lines
Got a new battery cause mine died from sitting in the driveway lol
Flushed and cleaned brake system and serviced master cyclinder
Cleaned and painted everything underneath I could find, there are still some minor touch ups but she is looking factory clean on the bottom
Oil leaks have been sourced and figured out. Oil pan gasket was leaking on driver side.
Installed the Cognito 7-9 to with all the bells and whistles

Now just needs an alignment and it’s good to go, and just in time for cruising weather.

I hope so , not having my ride has made this the longest 2 months of my life haha. It’s crazy how much peace it brings just driving my suburban everyday.

We didn’t get into the timing set or front main seal. Turns out the front seal wasn’t leaking, it was the oil pan and it was just blowing all over the place when I drive. So I have a complete timing set, front main seal and all that for when I do the engine rebuild.

Thanks bud she is definitely come a long way. Still need a new wheels and tires, double cardan front driveshaft, bigger transcooler, trans temp gauge, I am eye balling the e-fan swap, HD hood, paint match front and rear bumpers, replace headlights and taillights, and remove roof rack.

That’s about all I have lined up for now. I am sure you guys can give me plenty more ways to spend my money once I get that stuff done haha.
