2000 Tahoe NBS, tailgate same as 01+?

Looking for a new lift tailgate for my 2000 Tahoe, the newer style with a 5.3. The junkyards inventory the 2000 as being different than 2001+, even when I select the newer truck and not the old style.

Is this accurate or can I put a 2004 yukon XL tailgate on my 2000 Tahoe?


Corrosion is making mine look bad.

As long as yours is the new body style 2000 you will be fine. 2001 to 2006 will fit your new body style 2000

NBS rear hatch will fit 2000 to 2006. May have to possibly move a plug from the old door, but metal parts and glass all same.
