My 2000 Tahoe 5.3 with the variable assist is leaking on the back of the PS pump. I heard that there was a bypass fix for this but it seems that this "fix" is only up to year 1999. I checked the comment section on Amazon in regards to the bypass kit, talked to folks at 1AAuto and other auto places, and searched for the bypass kit myself and it seems that this fix only apply up to year 1999 not included the 5.3?
What about the 2000 model Tahoe? Is there a fix Or heck I would gladly buy a new pump with the bypass just to stop the leak which seems to be getting progressively worse.
If not can I just at least pull this damn thing off and Teflon tape the threads (if possible) to stop or slow this leak down?
As always, any help would be greatly appreciated!
