Not owing the possible conflicts, I purchased a 2009 5.7 Vortec to replace my 2000 5.7 Vortex. It appears to me after researching the issue àfter the fact that this isn't going to be a plug and play swap. Could someone please tell me what I'm going to need to do to make this work? Thank you for any and all help.

@OR VietVet may be able to provide some pointers to you. You are looking at a GMT400 platform versus a GMT900 platform.

Are you sure that the 2009 motor is a 5.7? I thought that the 5.7 was long gone by then and replaced with the 5.3.

Turns out there was a 5.7 engine option for the Yukon Denali in 2000 but none of the Yukon XL's had the option. There is no such thing as a 2009 5.7 Vortec engine.

Maybe @PJiv meant a 1999 5.7 Vortec?
