Has anyone done the 4 hi mod on a 2001? Tried the 03-06 thread and didnt work at all. The box is different for 2001. Dont want to waste the 3.00 and change I spent on these damn Diodes, we in a recession! Any help would be appreciated.

I messed around with it for a while, and ended up cutting and re-grounding the (bulb-side) of the yellow wire behind each headlight.

01 Tahoe as well.

What about the 6 High MOD? Thinking I might get HIDs for them now.

To keep the fogs on if I remember correctly, just jump a wire from the purple wire of the fogs to the orange of the headlamp. Check what wire is hot with a test light.

with the regrounding of the yellow wire, does this cause the low beam lights to come on as soon as the the ignition switch is turn on? also wouldnt this shorten the life or take wattage away from the low beam bulb (especially an hid bulb)?

Nope. Lights still work as they're supposed to.

Power switches the lamp on, and ground (or taking away of the ground over the yellow wire) turns 'em of when Hi's are switched on.
