Hey guys, new to the forum here. Just recently bought a 2001 tahoe 4x4 with a 5.3. Drove it for about 2 weeks every day before i changed the oil and my floor stayed dry. When i changed the oil the problem started. Ive noticed a small amount of oil on my garage floor every morning since. Not enough to drop the dipstick level but enough that i dont like it on my floor. I crawled up under it yesterday and seen it drip off of the tip of the oil filter. I had the mating surface of the filter clean when i put the new one on and i lubed the seal before i put the new filter on. Ive always done my own oil changes and this is a first for a filter leak. Now ive broused some and some say rear main seal, which i dont see an oil change causing that. and some say an oil filter adapter gasket, Which that sounds liek that could be me. If thats my case how close should i watch it and how much of a job to replace it? thanks
