I was looking to get feed back on two issues:

First, I picked up the truck last month(01 LT 168k). I paid low and needed to do some work. It ended up being, brakes(x4), u-joint, shocks(x4), transfer case and few litte things. A few weeks later I did new tires all around. I still get a vibration sometimes at 55/65 that comes and goes. It feels to be under my drivers seat area...Any ideas?

Second, I am getting around 10mpg overall 50/50 town highway with running around the kids etc. I know its a huge truck and nothing will ever be great about the MPG. Is there any though worth investing in to say pick up a few mpg such as cold air? exhuast cat-back? I've read on here many different opinions so I guess I am still torn.

thanks for any feedback!

I get 13-15 average with my 01 with an aftermarket exhaust, intake, and new plugs/wire.

Sounds good jomulk, I was thinking that route to start. New plugs/wires are going in this weekend or next depending on time/weather, then I will shop for the intake/exhuast...Any intake suggestions?

something seriously wrong there i get 15 mpg in my 02 on the trip i just took and i was doin 80 mostly
dont waste money on intakes they dont do anything stick to headers and exhaust
do you have a scan tool of some sort
if so plug it in and make sure the PCM is not staying in open loop
the pcm runs a rich mix in open loop untill the vehicle reaches the proper operating temp
if its staying in open loop that would explain the poor gas mileage

The best rated intake is the airaid MIT, just the smooth tube with the stock box, but I went with the Insys one on eBay because I've ran it in 2 other vehicles and it's cheaper. Exhaust wise I went with the one in my sig because I wanted a low roar and no drone.

When I got my hoe about 3 years ago, she got an average of 10.5 per tank. And I drive about 50/50 too. I did the swiss cheese mod, bought a Bully Dog, and aired up my tires good. It helped a lot on the crappy mpgs. I'm averaging 13 in town and about 15-17 at 65-75 on the bypass.
