Hi All;
Really need some help. I have a 2001 GMC Yukon XL SLT Autoride with the 5.3 Vortec engine. I live in So Cal. My problem is as follows:
So, we recently had about 6 days of nonstop rain day and night. And with everything going on, I haven't worked since LAST Saturday April 4th. I say all of this, because, last Saturday afternoon, was the last day I drove and parked the Yukon. Well, with all the nonstop cold rain, I didn't go anywhere or even start the Yukon. Well yesterday afternoon (Saturday the 11th), I went out to go somewhere, and the Yukon cranked one time, made an odd "locking" sound after the crank, then nothing. Everytime I turned the key after, just heard a click sound, which I pinpointed that it was coming from a relay in driver-side fuse panel. The fuse was labeled as "Unlock jpr" on the panel. While turning the key and simultaneously touching this relay, I could feel the click. Anyways, my battery had a 3-year warranty and I recently bought it in September of last year. So I took it back and exchanged it as it was completely free to do so. I put a new battery in and same thing. No crank or anything. When I put a new battery in, I completely cleaned my battery terminals and even replaced the bolts that hold the terminals on as well and tightened them down. They are super tight so I know those are good to go. My fear is, and hope that I don't have a seized engine for some reason. Because when I initially tried to crank it, it hadn't been started in over 5 days. The temperature here was only about 40 degrees during those 6 days of rain nonstop. Not freezing, but cold none the less. I have no idea what to do and I was wanting to know if anybody can recommend anything. I even put the transmission in neutral and tried to start it that way, but to no luck. I have my first born baby due in 2 weeks, and this is my only vehicle. I'm stuck and lost. Please help. God bless
