2001 Yukon newbie, My first GM....

Hello

My name is Bear,

Never owned a GM... I drove Xterra's and love old Mopars! I guess my first car was a 77 Cutlass! 350 rocket!

I just purchased a 2001 Yukon, SLT 4x4 loaded, great condition, that just turned 100k. I love this vehicle big time! The PO kept it very well maintiained, the interior looks new. I plan on doing some simple mods. I don't care for the rims much, so I'd like to find some other stock type from a different year? (same bolt pattern one newer models?) Maybe 17" or 18"? If anyone has a set for sale please let me know... I'll also be doing the 4 high, high beam mod, and adding body colored wheel flares. The PO had lame wheel lip mouldings that didn't fit, and some of the paint is worn and blistering. I'll have any body work addressed, and finish off with the flares. My reason for getting the Yukon was primarly towing my boat. I also enjoy my 69 340 Cuda, playing drums in a local rock band Cudasigh... Chemistry pays the bills during the day...

Thanks!

I was also thinking about painting the grill surround, and the chrome side body mouldings black also... With some different rims, it should look fantastic!

Welcome to the forum and to GM! I like the mesh grille as well, painting the surround would definitely improve the look IMO. You may be able to find stock type wheels here on this forum. I would post up in the wanted section and see what you get.

:welcome:

Cuda pics. (it's for sale also) I spent 5 years restoring every nut and bolt on the car.

Will rims from a 2007 and newer fit on my 2001 Yukon?

Thanks for the welcome!
