Hello. I am really struggling and need some help. I bought a 2001 Yukon a few weeks ago. It is pretty beat up and has a lot of miles but I got it cheap. Unfortunately, I didn't do a thorough test drive, and my 1600.00 vehicle is now $ 6600.00 with a 5000.00 transmission. So now I am buried and not crazy about taking to the dealer. About a week ago the doors stopped unlocking when I turned the key to the off position. Then the other day the driver's side door did not lock when I tried using the switch in the truck. The FOB also stopped working, and I have a passkey lockout. I have been attempting to relearn the key, to no avail. I have tried bypassing by tying yellow and orange wire, I have tried disconnecting battery and resetting the system. The security light stays solid when the key is off and rotates between the battery light and the security light when the key is on and never goes out or to solid. I have tried both keys, and it makes no difference. Do I need a new VATS Module? Kind of an expensive guess. Ideas? Thank you

1st, no such thing in 2025 as a vehicle that costs under $7500 in its first five years.
When you bought it for $1600, that meant you were going to spend about $6000 fixing it.

2nd, even if it is not very rusty under there, you better clean every single electrical ground connection. Lots of electrical problems are ground problems.

3rd, hope it does not turn out to be a flooded vehicle.

In Spanish there's a saying, which roughly translates as:
What's bought for cheap usually turn out to be expensive.
