How do i remove the spark plug wires from a 2001 Yukon. there is a metal protective sleeve that covers the end of the wire boot. I have pulled on it but it will not budge. I dont want to ruin anything so any help would be appreciated.

Great question! I have the same car and the same problem. From what I have read over the last several months you have to "trash" the wires to get them off. My car has been running great so I haven't taken that action yet.

Yep, it is very common to ruin the wires, they are baked on to the spark plug. Just go buy some stocker AC Delco plugs and wires and you will be good for another 100k miles.

Any particular reason to use AC delco wires an d plugs? Also are iridium plugs really necessary?
