I have an 01 yukon with some horn/turn signal/wiper issues. Some problem history: at first, intermittently, the rear wiper would come on when i would put the turn signal on 2-3 wipes like when the washer was activated. It would also twitch when I would shift into reverse but not fully wipe. Occasionally flipping the rear wiper on and off or wiggling the turn signal would make it stop but most of the time it would stop itself. This happened for a while and again was intermittent eventually it stopped. Then the right blinker would intermittently blink fast like a bulb was out (its not) and the horn wouldn't work. Sometimes a bump in the road would fix it.

I changed both the turn signal switch and the rear wiper switch but both issues still happen intermittently.

Today on my way to work while everything was working fine i made a stop and since restarting the blinkers (and hazards) and the horn are not working at all unless the gear selector is in park. If i press on the horn both arrows faintly light up.

Brake lights, headlights, high beams and daytime running lights all work.

IDK if they are related, I'm leaning toward a bad ground somewhere but now I'm not sure where to start other then the gear selector since I already changed the turn signal switch.

Thanks in advance.

So, I am assuming you replaced this combination switch that you called a turn signal switch: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=371193&cc=1373105&jsn=2242

I believe that same switch controls the rear wiper but I have barn doors so I don't know for sure.

Anyway, since you said you press on horn and both arrows faintly light up, it does sound like a short to ground problem. Check back in the column where you did the work and also at the front and rear turn signals wiring.

Others here may have other info for you.

By the way, welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the Forum. As PNW suggested, First check all grounds that you can see to ensure that they are clean and tight.

Thanks for the suggestion, and thanks fornwelcoming to the forum.

yes thats the switch i replaced. Mine has a separate switch on dash next to the headlight switch for the rear wiper.

Ill start checking grounds in daylight. I also realized that i had no tail lights or brake lights but had backups

I did forget to mention that i have aftermarket led tail lights for 2 years w/o issue.

For ***** and giggles In the parking l pulled the tail light housings. While i had the hazzards on I unplugged pass direction and brake. Plugged brake in and it came on. Plugged directional in and brake went out. left directional unplugged and unplugged both on driver side. plugged both in and both came on. Went back to pass side, plugged in directional and it came on too. Now everthing work except wiper cause i left it unplugged.
