Good evening all
My question is when the truck is idleding there is a weining sound from the belt area kinda sounds like a power steering pump going bad twineing noise it increases when accelerating. I took my stethoscope and seems the sound is coming from the AC pump.
Is the clutch and pully replaceable or do I need a be compressor?
I turned on AC and the sound doesn’t increase. I am sum what mechanically inclined. My cuz has a Tahoe and said that’s a normal sound I call BS. Anyone have this issue or similar? I was also told these trucks don’t have a PS pump.

lol, you def have a power steering pump, I would just replace the compressor if you are sure that is the source, easy way to tell-reach up on the tensioner with a 3/8" drive ratchet, pull the tensioner back and pull the belt off, leave the belt hanging loose, start truck, if noise is gone then that's your source.

Lol on that too as to I just added PS fluid thinking it was low on fluid.

You think if I bought a belt to fit W/O AC I should be able to narrow it down?

The a/c belt should be completely separate, unless your posting in the wrong section 00-06 nbs

Could be the tensioner pulley. Had a strange noise on mine as well and it was the bearing in the tensioner pulley. Easy fix.

I second the tensioner pulley i had to do mine also-do the ac belt at the same time. But look under the yukon its hard to see from up top-take the belt off and spin and pull on the tensioner.
