2002 4x4 Tahoe transmission problem

4l80e comes with all 6.0 trucks right ?

No. 2500 and 3500 trucks mainly. Not the 1500 style we drive

I have a 2000 LT and the transmission won't actually reverse (goes in gear but unless you're on an incline, it won't go backwards) and you have to get up to 15-20 mph then take your foot of the gas momentarily to go from 1st to 2nd gear. I'm trying to swap out the transmission and purchased a 4l60e but it seems to be too long to fit. Is there any modifications that can be done or is there a way to determine the exact model that was removed?
