Hello all,
I'm not a gear head by any means, but I've turned a few wrenches. And for the life of me, I can't figure this one out.
I removed the door panel on passenger side of my wife's 2002 Tahoe Z-71 to vacuum the glass out after replacing a smashed window. When I was putting the panel back on, I pinched the wire for the marker light on very bottom of the door.
Obviously popped a fuse.
While I was searching for a replacement fuse it started sprinkling. So I, naively, grabbed a larger fuse so I could close the windows and sunroof real quick because the sprinkles turned to a downpour.
Got the windows up and the sunroof 98% closed, and had to yank the fuse. The wire I had pinched, got real hot and melted about 6 inches of it. I cut that out and individually capped the 2 wires, as my wife never uses her dome lights anyway. Popped in a new, correct fuse. And everything seemed normal.
That is until my wife tried to use the windows.
Driver front and rear widows function properly. Sunroof and passenger front and rear, do not work, click, buzz, or anything. Main power window/lock fuse is fine, obviously or the driver side wouldn't work.
I also checked the independent fuses/circuit breakers, on either side of the dash. I traced the burnt wire on past my caps and also the surrounding wires and found no more burnt pieces. I'm not sure what else I should check. Any thoughts or ideas are greatly appreciated. But please don't waste either of our time by answering just to mock me. Thanks in advance!

I cannot personally help you with your question; however, other members on this Forum that are much more knowledgeable than me will chime in.

Welcome to the forum. We kid/jest all the time but like @Joseph Garcia said, if that bothers some, they can leave with no harm done. New members that don't even say hi but instead just asks for help and then warns, is ok but will likely keep you from getting the kind of help you ask for.

You said you checked all wiring from the capped wires? Did you look in the convoluted tubing in the door jam of the passenger doors? Are you saying the door switches at the main switch, driver's door, and the door switches at the passenger doors all do not work?

I appreciate your feedback, and thank you for the welcome. I do plan on sharing any knowledge I may have. And don't get me wrong, I'm not thinned skinned by any means. Just don't got time to read hecklers posts.

Yes, for passenger front and rear, NO switches do anything. As well as the sunroof. But driver front and rear work perfectly fine. Checked the fuses and circuit breakers. They are all good.
