I have a 2002 Chevy Tahoe 5.3 and every time it gets COLD about 20 degrees or colder the check engine light comes on. The code indicates a misfire on cylinder 6. The check engine light will not come on through out the year only until it gets really cold. I have done a complete tune up, spark plugs autolights, 8MM Taylor wires, gas filter, k&n intake. I also have done a few seafoam treatments. I have swapped the plug and the wire with another one and it still doesn't help. The confusion thing is that the truck runs great all year around. It has power and starts with no hesitation. I was thinking trying the factory plugs and go from there.

Any ideas??

Thanks

ive known a few trucks to throw cel on cold start, start surging and sounding like it has a cam in it, then its fine once it warms up. every single one of them had fuel pump failure shortly after.

also you could check your intake gasket. might have a small tear/rip in the gasket that leaks when cold, but the gasket swells when warmed and the problem goes away

My 02 did the same thing fuel pump was the cause. Is it worse with below a half tank at any temp? Mine started rough starting around a 1/3rd then half then nothing.
