My truck's got 258k on the clock, and it's been leaking like a stuck pig. Oil and trans fluid levels were stable though. It began making an odd noise when I hit the gas or turned shortly after starting the truck, then the noise faded. Finally checked PS fluid and the stick was bone dry. I added two bottles of Bars Power Steering Stop Leak Concentrate (it actually only took one and a half 11 oz. bottles). I spun the wheel and it bubbled and the fluid quickly turned a shit color brown. Seems to drive OK now, noise is gone. I'm the original owner and have never done anything to the power steering system.

Anything I should do or be concerned about the color of the fluid? Thanks in advance.

I'm surprise the power steering pump has lasted you that long, mine when out at 155k miles, If you are leaking fluid is probably from the hydro boost brake booster and it needs to be replace.
