2002 Yukon XL 2500 leaf spring shackles

Hi,

I have a 2002 GMC Yukon XL 2500 8.1 and wanted to change the leaf spring shackles, as the ones on the truck now are not the same design on both sides, and one side is rusted, but the bolt cc are the same, or very similar measured when installed.

On rockauto I saw that there were what looked to me like two different versions available, one that is for a 2 inch body lift, and one that is not. I ordered the one for a 2 inch lift, hoping this maybe was a shorter version that would give some extra height in the rear. I ordered Dorman 722030, looking at them now I see that the ones on the truck are more alike Dorman 722029 in the design, but the bolt cc are the same.

Would anyone know why there are different versions available?
Is there a shackle that looks stock that would be a little shorter than the ones I have now (about 4.5" bolt cc)?

I wonder if theres an RPO code that indicates whether or not a particular vehicle had the 2” lift shackle originally?

I don't know on the 2500's but I would bet they are the same or similar as the silverado/sierra and there are a ton of options for those out there. all sizes
if a auto parts store or performance shop has some in stock you could take one of yours off and take it with you and compare it side by side.
or even hit the local junkyard

I do not know if there is a 2" lift shackle in terms of length. But that one is more straight on the "backside", the one on the truck now has a more of bend to it. I am thinking now that it has to do with something it maybe needs to clear somehow.

@Doubeleive; Good idea, its just that I live in Norway and here there are no shops like that to just walk into I am afraid, not many junkyards with trucks either.. So I was hoping someone had information to share on this.
