I have a 2002 GMC Yukon XL 2500 8.1 and wanted to change the leaf spring shackles, as the ones on the truck now are not the same design on both sides, and one side is rusted, but the bolt cc are the same, or very similar measured when installed.
On rockauto I saw that there were what looked to me like two different versions available, one that is for a 2 inch body lift, and one that is not. I ordered the one for a 2 inch lift, hoping this maybe was a shorter version that would give some extra height in the rear. I ordered Dorman 722030, looking at them now I see that the ones on the truck are more alike Dorman 722029 in the design, but the bolt cc are the same.
Would anyone know why there are different versions available?
Is there a shackle that looks stock that would be a little shorter than the ones I have now (about 4.5" bolt cc)?
