I have a 03 Tahoe with 150xxx miles on it, and last summer the a/c compressor went out. I had it replaced with a new(not reman) one from Napa. The accumulator and orifice tube were replaced as well as a full system flush. It was vacuumed down and the proper amounts of oil/refrigerant used to refill. Now the new compressor is grinding/groaning, and leaking oil from the front seal. I am currently not deployed so I am just trying to figure out how bad my wife is going to get screwed when she takes it in, or what to have her get looked at. I had a friend remove the belt from the compressor, but it was still blowing cold just didn't want to contaminate the system further or have the compressor lock up.
Now for my rant about Napa. They are saying without proof of flush they will not replace the compressor. The receipt shows the compressor, accumulator, and orifice tube. I never saw in the warranty that they needed proof of flush, and its not listed on their site. Also there is no way to get ahold of the corporate office all you can do is call the 800 number and get transferred to a regional office, but after leaving messages all week and not getting a call back it is getting frustrating.
Sorry for all the rambling just figured I'd give the whole story.
