Hi all,
8 months ago I purchased a 2003 Tahoe LL PPV from a guy (for what I thought was a great deal) after he had got it at a police auction. 10 years in service for the county sheriff. Personally, it has been a great truck thus far, but I realized I don't have any information on this particular model. The title states that it is a Tahoe LL, but I have had no luck searching around for that model online. What exactly does this vehicle have/not have that differentiates it from other Tahoe models? Or any other differences/ add-ons/ other things that made this a PPV and not just a typical 5.3L Tahoe LS or Z71 with some fancy words in the name? Any information on this would be more than I have currently

I don't know what the LL version is, but the PPV package IIRC has better brakes, larger alternator and battery capacity, slightly different suspension (shocks primarily) tranny with different shifting program (this is where my memory may be off), computer tray for front passenger side, different back seat for prisoner tray, and barn doors. That's all I can remember, and my memory kinda sucks. Sorry. Hopefully someone else would have more specifics. The outside stuff should be obvious like push bar in front, light rack/wiring.

Not all of them had barn doors there some NC state trooper ones with the hatch. I think the barn doors went out on this body style somewhere in 04-05

yours is called a police special service package and does not have the high speed equipment used on the 1997 - 1999.

The PPV name was not used in 2000 to 2004. in 2005 the ppv name was reintroduced with high speed capability in 2wd only.

A PPV is a Police Pursuit Vehicle , SSV is special service Vehicle,
PPV is speed / pursuit rated dialed in suspension! brakes! coolers , SSV's can come in two and 4 wheel drive! Usually for off road patrol , Park patrol, crime scene units, supervisors, Trailer and weight, K-9 units, I.E. Units that don't need to go fast!
