2003 Yukon problem with gauges

Hey guys,

Having an issue with my instrument cluster in the Yukon. Was working for awhile then one day when I started the truck nothing came on. Backlights work but none of the gauges (tach, spedo, fuel, temp etc) or evic start up. After driving for a little bit it would come on out of no where then work for awhile.

It has been several days and they have not come back on

Thought it may be a bad ground? Any help would be appreciated!!

turn key to on position, pull gear selector to D, pull plastc dash part off. There are 4 I believe 8mm bolts holding cluster in. Remove, and pull cluster out. Make sure there are two large plugs, plugged securly into the cluster.
I can pull mine in about 3 minutes. First thing to check.

Awesome! Thanks for the advice. I will check that out today.

So I took out the cluster and the harness was in securely. I messed around with the wires and it came back on briefly and then went out again. Started the car up and it worked again but after a little while the cluster shut off. Has not worked again today.

Any ideas?

sounds like a wiring/connection issue.

Yeah that was what I was thinking. I am going to take it off again when I have some time this weekend and see what is going on.

Is it just the light?

The lights work for the back lighting and needles.

Its the cluster itself that doesn't come on. When I turn the car on something comes on like the gear selector, odometer, needles dont move etc...

Sometimes it comes on after 20mins or so of driving but hasnt in awhile...
