Hi ya'll, newbie here, did some searching but nothing conclusive.

I bought a 2003 Yukon from a Lady who says the transmission is going out, so its been parked at her property for 5 months. Battery was dead.

I had it towed to my house. Bought a new battery. Went to start it it....Dash lights up, but ..Nothing when you try to crank.

I hear the relays clicking, but the starter does not even try to crank.

I tested the fuses, and when in the cranking position, i get power to the relay, and ign fuse.

I tested the starter, I have 12v on the starter , and when I crank, I AM NOT getting 12v to starter soloniod??

So...is this a Chipped key issue or is this a wiring issue?

anythoughts?

Keys aren't chipped on these trucks.

Check your IGN fuse "E" 10 Amp and also 12V out of the Park/Neutral Position switch with it in Park and key on. Also check the underhood "Crank" fuse for 12V in the crank position.

Edit: Ok so I guess you did all of that. Apply 12V to the Purple wire at the starter. Doues it crank?

If so, you need to check power at the ECM connectors. Connector C1 pin 39 (hot in start or run) and Connector C2 pin 59 hot at all times. (back-probing the connectors on both of these with the connectors still plugged in)

Hopefully you got it for like $1000... I would never buy a vehicle without hearing it run if it should be running.
