Wow three weeks since I’ve been here!? New job keeps me off my butt most of the day which is awesome but that means less internet surfing.

Truck did finally have a window motor fail last week, and the replacement part got lost. Have a new one coming today hopefully so that will be resolved. Unfortunately I also believe the AC system is leaking around the same &*%%+~€\*]£<+<£ing spot that it’s leaks the last 3 or 4 times. I noticed it not working well that last few days and today I finally popped the hood to see the compressor not staying engaged and the line that connects to the top side of the compressor being covered in an oily substance. I didn’t hit it with a UV light yet but I’m 99% sure it’s leaking there again. This time I’m assuming it’s from the seal since I welded the line, however I could have a crack in my weld. Either reason for the leak is odd that it worked for several months before failing just like it did the other times. My motor mounts appear fine and yes I abuse the truck but none of that should cause the line to break. I’ve never heard or seen this happen to anyone else, am I missing something?

Looks like the same area to me, system was totally empty so time for another drier, for the 4th time now iirc. Also gotta get a new gauge set, for some reason the QD for the high side worked fine in my hand but would not lock over the line. Need to upgrade from china freight stuff with all the use it’s been getting.

Window motor is fixed at least, looks like the old motor was working but one of the cables snapped! The people I paid to do the radio and put dynamatt on the doors scammed me and didn’t out any dynamatt so I have some coming before I put the panel back in.

I think I found the AC leak. The old seal was replaced maybe a year ago, it’s the lower line that connects to the compressor and iirc the seal is from a cheap set from harbor freight. It looks to me as tho the oil leak I had for a few weeks seeped oil onto the seal and it deteriorated it.

The new seal is from a professional American made kit I bought a few months ago, and is clearly much higher quality. So far so good it’s holding more vac than every before and held for three hours while I went to town.

I’m about to replace all my ac components minus the lines. I bought a good seal/o ring set. My system lost all its refrigerant and the compressor is clanking when I try to spin it. Wish me luck.
