You recovering your refrigerant each time or just killing all the dolphins down there?the orifice tube that was in it cooled awesome cept it had some metal on it so i just replaced it. now its icing up the line to the evaporator. blowing hot air out the vents. i blew out the evaporator when i had it apart so i know its not obstructed. so what im figgering is whatever it is letting through the orifice is expanding before it ever reaches the evaporator (icing the line),i started with about 16oz and ran it till about 30oz worth in the thing before i gave up and chiller was working fine highside pressure 160-180. chiller actually got worse the more i put in it so i know i was way over on the charge. found the "right" orifice tube local so i grabbed it this morning also along with some more 134a
yea its just sitting here, i'll let you know when i figure out a good weekend. will be friday night/sat morning deal probably. i dont have a trailer i was thinking just throwing it on one of those hitch mounted racks and strapping it down
I heard it costs a grand to recharge the new vehicles.Yeah sounds like orifice tube to me, it’s annoying how expensive even the cheapest cans of r134 have gotten. I’m at $9 a can at Walmart, used to be $3.99 at HF.
Cool that works, I’m off fridays and Saturday’s. I’ve had them in the truck before but they easy to get in and then it smells like doodoo butter for a few days.
I believe we both donate it to the atmosphere. After all global warming is serious, adding refrigerant helps reverse the heat. You recovering your refrigerant each time or just killing all the dolphins down there?
I’ve heard similar, I wonder why they switched.I heard it costs a grand to recharge the new vehicles.
I only capture mine because my buddy takes it and that’s why he only charges me $60 for a complete evacuation and refill. Win win.
my buddy has an old machine, said it needed a couple solenoids or some shit if i wanted to take it and fix it. looked them up theyre like $5k+ for the machineI remember looking into the cost of the machine that does the evacuations and it’s kinda ridiculously expensive.
I wonder how hard it would be to fix, I don’t really mind being a horrible person and dumping it in the atmosphere. After all I’m not having kids so as long as the worlds okay for another 50years I’m good.my buddy has an old machine, said it needed a couple solenoids or some shit if i wanted to take it and fix it. looked them up theyre like $5k+ for the machine
also ac is still fugged up on mine.
