I'm planning on using a 1200 watt JL amp and was wondering if anyone has experience with stinger batteries? Also is it possible to add a second battery in the engine bay? Do I need a second battery or can I just replace the ac delco?

So you are going to add a battery, JL amp and some subs then going to sell it? Dont get the point. If I was going to buy your truck I sure wouldn't want to know you hacked it all up just to sell it to me.

changed your post to take off <for sale> portion....if that's the only amp, you may be fine with stock battery.

Edited your post due to:

Well all I would be doing is replacing the OEM AC Delco battery with a Stinger higher output battery. Thats to ensure all electrical systems get their required power, while keeping the truck running smooth. Adding an aftermarket amplifier is an easy process and is completely reversible. I obviously wouldn't be selling any of those items with the truck. I was just seeing if anyone was interested.

I would focus more on the alternator, not the battery. Unless you plan on running the system for extended periods of time with the engine off.

isnt the alternator on the escalade enough to handle it? the alternator charges the battery and the battery directly powers everything if im not mistaken

i will have 2 750watt amps, 1500 watts total (2 JL HD750/1's)....they are designed to use less power and are more efficient....some custom shops said i could get away with the stock ac delco, another said i could add a 2nd battery to be on the safe side.....to save money and time i think upgrading the main battery would be the best idea

so that will be a total of 1500watts, but keep in mind these a HD amps from JL Audio.....750W RMS x 1 @ 1.5-4Ω (11V - 14.5V)

i think the alternator is rated at 105 amps....2004 6.0L Escalade

Unless the Escalade is wired differently than most cars on the road, your statement is untrue.

You can start a car, remove the battery, and the car will still run.
