what i mean was can a 4x4 be converted to a 2x4 i have a 04 z71 and i have never use the 4x4 front diff seem defective so i want to get rid of the diff any ideas or link to someone that did this before

Way more money than you will get back in weight savings or whatever you are looking for.

I've thought of doing this to meet it seems you could just drop it all out and put a cover on the transfer case where the driveline comes out and then if you care about dash lights and stuff just put resistors on the plugs and zip tie them up.

You'd prolly gain like 1-2 mpg
