I have a 6 Disc CD Changer that continues to cycle. I found a used unit but understand it needs to be programmed so my radio will recognize it. Is there a way to do this without having to go to the dealer?

Is the changer separate from the head unit, or in the head unit?

Ah I forgot about the units with the changer built in. Sorry... if it's the separate 6 disc changer in the Denali or Escalade, it won't require programming.

If you do end up having to go to the dealer, consider the price the quote you and how that might factor in.

A Tech 2 clone scan tool can be had for less than $300. If the cost of programming the radio is $100 or more, you may want to consider getting a Tech 2. They can be used to program radios and a million other module program re-learn and diagnostic functions. Other bi-directional scan tools may also do that, I am not sure of costs for other scan devices.
