I am not sure what is going on here. I hear a grinding noise which seems to be coming from around the drivers side front tire. My husband changed the brakes and hub bearings on both sides. He can't see anything that could be rubbing. When driving, it sounds like metal on metal contact. When braking, it makes a horrible grinding sound. Anyone here have any other ideas? Thank you!

if it isnt any suspension components or the brakes it could be your front differential. mine made a metal grinding noise. had to get it rebuilt.

I had the shop drain some oil out the diff and there was metal shavings in the oil thats how we knew it was the diff.

That's a good idea! I would try that if i was you.
But I have a question. You say it gets louder when you brake? Like much louder?

I think I've figured it out. The noise sounded like it was coming front the front. We changed the brakes, calipers and hub bearings. None of this helped. Took a look at the back brakes and the rotor was pretty bad. Replacing that, the brakes and calipers right at this moment. Crossing my fingers!!
